model export is not working properly #26

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Import armory char
2. Use an animation of your choice
3. Export model as ms3d, obj or any other format

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The model should be loaded into Milkshape as it was exported.
Instead:
When I load the output ms3d, obj, etc into milkshape 3d some gear items
change position, size, etc.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
r635 OS:Windows 7.

Please provide any additional information below.
Init model export works ok. It seems this effect is related postures
created by the animation feature.

It seems that, when animated, Helmets and shoulders aren't being carried with
the
model's deformations when it's exported to ms3d, not being exported at all to
the
other formats.

It seems that export options need a major revise and is still not working well:
observation and test with different programs like milkshake, viscam view and
vivaty
studio revealed:
partially textures are missing and/or not correctly attached to the object.
sometimes objects like shoulders/weapons/offhands are missing.
quality of details: exported mesh/triangles are significantly reduced in number.

For me and probably many others, a working export function, which allows a 1:1
export
(all attached objects, textures) as 3DS in highest possible resolution/mesh
would be
highly appreciated.
Many thx for your effort and keep this program alive. It is great!

We are aware of the deficiencies in the export functions and we're working on
fixing
this.

Currently, I'm working on updating the Lightwave exporter (which is our most
advanced
exporter ATM) to export a 1:1 model. Once I have finished updating it, I'm
planning
to move on to the other exporters, including writing a new Collada exporter,
which
should satisfy 99% of all exporting needs.
