This PR enables DisCoTec to run without the manager-worker scheme, i.e. with worker ranks only. It should still work with the manager, too.

@vancraar and I evaluated the functionality enabled by the manager-worker setup. We came up with

initial load balancing -> when the tasks are not pre-assigned to process groups
rescheduling / rebalancing
algorithm-based fault tolerance
single-connection widely-distributed simulations
widely-distributed simulations with on-line error evaluation

So what you can do when using only workers is

pre-assigned or naively assigned tasks
file-based widely-distributed combinations
writing system-wide interpolated values and evaluating the total Monte Carlo errors only after the simulation
