Some ideas...
6. The user would be able to set alerts to be notified when a friend is close
to a
location.
7. There could be a library with pre-defined objects like "speed radar", "kid's
school"

8. The objects database could also bring data from others Location-based
sources
like Wikimapia

9. It will have an option to group your friends and allow the user to set
different
visibility setting to each group or contact.
10. It will have an option to specify how often the syncronization with the
server,
to bring and send location data, will occurr.

12. Add a feature where bussiness through the Web GUI could add their Products
to
the Database, then the user could search for a special item and the application
will
return the found items orden by closest location. For example I enter the
application and search 'Ipod' then the application already knows my current
location
and would bring me a list of all closest Stores where an Ipod is sold. Thanks
Fernando for this great idea.
13. Marketing one to one: If the user allows it, the application could store
all the
articles the user already search in the past. With this information the
application
estimates what do you like (also the user could choose their category
preferences in
the Web GUI) and when you are close to for example Electronic Stores, this
Stores
could send the users Offers about products that you like. Thanks Dario for this
idea.

14. Based on user-profile, the user could be notified when different events
(music,
art, sports,...) will happen close your location.
15. Based on user-profile, the user could be notified when hobbie matching, job
matching, soul-mate or whatever matching with your profile is close to your
location

16. Extract photo geocode. Save the gps position of the photo taken with the
mobile
phone. Extra points: Show a thumbnail of the photo taken on the map.

17. Allow different friend classes, like contact, friend, or family, and
preferences
for how each is treated.
18. Allow activities, like One Laptop Per Child, or status messages like google
chat,
for example "Hanging out under the bridge" or "Working at the local coffee
shop".

I just read the email from Mauro and I think that he has brought very good
ideas and
I would like to add some other features we discussed with Andres yesterday:
19. Users will be able to pick an icon or image to assign to their friends or
places
20. Functions like locating the nearest X place (like restaurants, pubs,
theatres,
maybe with sponsored suggestions and offers) to go with my friends
21. Related to Mauro's idea we can integrate the application with a To Do List
and
alert the user when he/she is close to a place that could fulfill the To Do
22. Event organizer: based on templates for different events the application
would
send invitations to the nearest people suitable for the event (based on
profile) and
manage responses.

I think the event organizer could be a very useful tool, allowing groups of
people to
share a location and activity. Several groups of friends meeting up at a cafe
before
going together to a concert, meeting friends for a meal in a busy city, on-going
guided tours of a city. Events/Activities and Groups all seem to be a different
approaches to the same idea.
