Ingest Literature Data for 2MASS J04151954-0935066 #375

In the process of making the SED for the object 2MASS 0415-09, I have acquired more publicly available data that needs to be ingested.

Spectra:

Photometry:

SherelynA commented 1 year ago

@kelle These are the two spectra files: 2M0415_AKARI.txt lris_0415-0935_010220.txt

kelle commented 1 year ago

Any chance I could get you to convert these to FITS? It pains me to ingest .txt files. The latest script demonstrating how to use the functions we've already built is convert_bard14_spectra.py

SherelynA commented 1 year ago

@kelle yep I can do it!

kelle commented 1 year ago

Also, the spectra already in the database should be converted so it can be plotted. https://simple-bd-archive.org/load_solo/2MASS%20J04151954-0935066

Hi @kelle , I was wondering if I can get the aws link for these two converted fits files, and another for the original link for one of them which is the txt file since we don't have it in the database!

SherelynA commented 6 months ago

Also @kelle, how should I deal with spectra that will be published in the paper?

kelle commented 6 months ago

We usually guess the reference. In this case, Alej24. Just make sure you're ok making it public before the paper is out.

I've checked the two fits files with the spectrum_plottable function and they both look good.

SherelynA commented 6 months ago

Hi @kelle, Can I also have the aws link for these two files. One in the converted one and the other is the original file which is not in the database. Also, I did want to point out that even though the original file says the flux units are in erg/s/cm2/um , after trying to convert to erg/s/cm2/AA, I figured out that the units are probably erg/s/cm**2/nm in the original file instead.

Actually don't convert them yet, the converted file has the wrong instrument!

SherelynA commented 6 months ago

This is the correct folder with the correct instrument: 2M0415 Spectra.zip

kelle commented 6 months ago

I've found another LRIS spectrum on my harddrive. I think this one one has a higher SNR than the one from Kirk08.

SherelynA commented 6 months ago

@kelle are you getting the SNR from the publication by chance just because the file itself doesn't seem to have uncertainties

kelle commented 6 months ago

By eye inspection and exposure time. The 2001 observation was a much longer exposure than the 2000 one.

kelle commented 1 month ago

@SherelynA , I think we have all of the spectra EXCEPT for the Magellan/FIRE data. Could you please upload here or send to @canavarrete01 ? Moved to #559

canavarrete01 commented 2 weeks ago

Corrected FITS files! All include necessary header information as well as Astropy units and observation information. Verified_Spectra.zip @kelle
