daemon -d,how it working #349

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.-d run as a daemon ,can not understand;
2.after sudden power lost,can not start without -d parameter;
3.with -d parameter ,memcached stop in a time of uncertainty.

Please ask for help on the mailing list, and include some errors, if you're 
seeing them? Sorry but I'm having a hard time following what you're saying.
