TC takes much RAM #101

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. start torchat
2. keep running for awhile
3. obviously memory leak which leads to 100MB - 700MB RAM usage

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
TC version: 0.9.9.530 (svn:r530)
OS: Ubuntu Lucid
Python 2.6.5.final.0
wx: 2.8.10.1

Please provide any additional information below.
I have around 10 contacts, with at least 1 chat window opened with dozens of 
lines of chat in the scrollback.

how exactly did you measure the RAM consumption? "Virtual memory " or "reserved 
memory"? Please post the detailed output of the tool you used.
