[tcap479@12/31/2013] Are you using a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Excel? You would have to use the 64-bit version of Excel to take advantage of all the memory you have on your computer.
Note that even if you switch to the 64-bit version of Excel and you get past the out-of-memory problems, you are likely to run into performance bottlenecks elsewhere within NodeXL, which is not optimized for huge graphs. You can always try it if you don't mind reinstalling Excel, but I can't guarantee that it's going to work for you.

[tcap479@1/2/2014] But before you even consider the 64-bit version of Excel, please see my Apr 18, 2013 response to "Import from Facebook Fan Page" at http://nodexl.codeplex.com/discussions/440757 .

[elraidor@4/22/2014] Same problem - my Twitter imports are failing with Out of RAM errors - for large networks e.g. 10K followers is NodeXL trying to cache all this data? Can it not be written to a log file as it progresses??

Issue description: SystemOutOfMemoryException System: Windows 8.1 - QuadCore 3.1 Ghz - 16 Go RAM NodeXL: last version
Hi NodeXL team,
Since a few days, I have encountered several "SystemOutOfMemoryException" errors while importing Twitter users networks or Youtube video networks. As Marc Smith said to me, these imports are using huge RAM.
Nevertheless, while importing these networks, I have checked on my PC that only 16% of core processors memory where used and only 1.5 Go on 16 Go of RAM were used.
Have you encountered these type of problems ?
Kind regards,
Cyrille.
