NodeXL does not appear in ribbon #322

Hi there,

I've just installed NodeXL, and I'm trying to follow a YouTube tutorial. However, on the ribbon at the top, where the tutorial shows NodeXL as one of the choices (after File, Home, Insert, Page Layout, Formulas, Design), I don't have that. So, I can't seem to actually access the NodeXL tab. Otherwise, my page looks exactly like the tutorial, but where is that tab? I'm running Windows & and Excel 2007.

to open NodeXL in Windows 7, 8:

  1. Open "Start" menu
  2. Search for "NodeXL Excel Template"
  3. Click to open

To open NodeXL in Windows 10:

  1. Open "Start" menu
  2. Go to "All Apps"
  3. Scroll to "N" either by clicking on a letter (i.e A) and selecting "N" or by using your mouse
  4. If NodeXL is installed correctly, you should see "NodeXL Excel Template" entry Click to open or Right click -> Pin to Start will pin NodeXL to the start menu so you can easily open it in the future

Thank you for your response - I really appreciate it. I'm afraid I wasn't quite clear - it's not that I can't open NodeXL in Windows 7 (I can, and it opens), it's just that once it's open, I don't have access to the NodeXL tab across the top of the screen - the tab that allows me to import data and do magical things! I attach a screenshot of what I see, if that helps. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

[heather_m@2/4/2016] Has anyone else had this problem? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling NodeXL - nothing seems to bring me the complete menu option bar!!

No, I don't get any error messages whatsoever. I did try uninstalling and reinstalling NodeXL, and it still doesn't show up properly. I'm stumped - thanks anyway for your help.
