Hall effect error #110

Closed nickross4444 closed 2 years ago

Since lengthening cables, we occasionally get a hall sensor error on the miniWEC motor controller, which stops operation. Previously ensuring the connector is snugly set has helped, but the error has since become more common.

Things to try/check:

Oscilloscope showed the H1 signal was not consistently coming through the 24 pin connector on the box, though disassembling the connector showed no fault. Issue seems to be that the connector was twisting the wire in a way that made it have spotty continuity. Reassembling the connector with care not to twist the wires too much seems to have fixed it.

Solution for this issue in the future: Unscrew the 24 pin connector and confirm that pin 3(connected to H3) has continuity. Be careful not to get the wires to twisted when reassembling.
