Documentation misc updates

This PR includes a few minor updates to the documentation (supports #2):

• .gitignore file now exists in doc/tex_src to tell git to not track ancillary TeX files (*.aux, *.log, etc.)
• Removes trailing whitespaces
• The text "draft" is no longer in the title; the version number is no longer part of the date.
• novaFD/novaND detector configurations are now mentioned in the 'scintillator' section of the text.
