hmm, I guess we can just develop on the same branch. Too much refactoring, can't properly branch right now.

Maybe this: we use the current develop branch as the base, continue branching on analytics and transfer, but for changes that are not in the Analytics/Transfer namespaces, commit to the develop branch directly.
