@foyiri Could you please use the issue templates we have provided for any requests on GitHub? They ensure that we properly understand the feature requests or bugs that you're submitting. Unfortunately I don't really understand what this issue is supposed to be about.

@foyiri The lab sample id can not be a required field when creating a sample because the SO sending the sample to the lab does not know the id system of the lab. @MateStrysewskeSym However, I had a look and realized that the "sample id" we had initially is missing in the sample data, only the internal "lap sample id" is available. This must have caused this confusion. We decided to automatically fill the sample ID with the epid number, and this should be a required field for a sample. -We should add the sample id field and fill it with the epid number of a case and make it a required field. -Keep the lab sample id as it, since it it used for internal purpose only. Another option is to re-label the "lab sample id" as "sample id" and use the epid number for it. This will not be a best solution because users will bot be able to dicument their internal lab id.

If a case has many samples, all of them will have the sample sample id, but the lab sample id will be different since the lab is responsible to issue this field when they set the sample.

@bernardsilenou That's not exactly true. We decided to get rid of the sample ID and instead display the epid number of the case in the case info section on the right side because there's no need for users to manually fill that in.

@MateStrysewskeSym Thanks for the correction. This means the current design is fine in my opinion.

@Silenou, Bernard Bernard.Silenou@helmholtz-hzi.de the compulsory field is not for sample collection but for entering result in the lab
