@Iheanacho2027 This is a big change. The classification is linked to automatic case classification and all other logic in the system. A change to this would apply to all other diseases in the system. Can you provide a case definition + ref documentations of each of the categories: "Discarded", "clinically compatible" and "Epidemiologically-linked". This need to be programmed in the automatic case classification the is in the system
Is "Discarded" a case classification?
Good morning @bernardsilenou,
Below are listed guidelines that can help in the automatic case classification.
For IGM+, it was agreed that if a sample is tested in the laboratory whether it has an adequate volume of 5ml or not, as long as it is confirmed positive and has passed the lab quality check for that day, it should be considered a CONFIRMED CASE.
Similarly, for IGM-, if a sample is tested in the laboratory whether it has an adequate volume of 5ml or not, as long as it is confirmed negative and has passed the lab quality check for that day, is considered negative and will be DISCARDED.
If the sample is inadequate and cannot be tested, this should be considered as CLINICALLY COMPATIBLE
For samples awaiting laboratory testing, this would be considered as PENDING
For line listed cases that have clinical symptoms in keeping with a suspected case of measles, this will be considered as CLINICALLY COMPATIBLE cases. (A need to update the CIFs to reflect clinical symptoms).
In situations where an LGA is in an outbreak, any line listed cases with clinical symptoms in keeping with a suspected case of measles are considered epidemiologically linked.
We should ensure that epidemiologically linked are classified in the context of an outbreak in the LGA within the stipulated time period of an active outbreak in the LGA
For suspected cases with no sample taken, this should be considered as clinically compatible
I'm available for any clarity.
@generalkolo Thank for this information. Few comments:
@bernardsilenou Comments well received.
"A test result called "Not Done" should be included in the measles and Yellow fever module".
The feature requests listed here has been broken into individual requests.
Inclusion of case classifications called "Discarded", "clinically compatible" and "Epidemiologically-linked" on the measles module. -> #4218
A test result called "Not Done" should be included to the measles and Yellow fever module -> #4219
