linking of family members

Situation Description

If more then one family member becomes positive with C19, we are currently openening an event to get them together. In my view it is not to bad, but the event directory becomes very large as its usual that more then one family member get infected and non of them were a contact of each other before (I hope you understand what I mean).

Feature Description

It would be helpful to link family members to each other together with the position in the household/family. This could be

1. parents
2. child
3. grand parents
4. sister
5. brother
6. ....

@Marko-ilmkreis We are thinking about making Sormas more modular in the long run. Maybe it would help to be able to introduce server specific configurable enums where users can introduce e.g. "label" enums and specify the values in the configuration (one could be family). This could also be made available for other entities so users could then e.g. add a label for event participants that defines the role in the family.

• There should be an underlying reason why we need to link family members or people in general, right?, and in SORMAS this is a contact. So we all agree that we only document family member because they had contact.
• Base on your scenario, a good solution would be to create all the family members as contact to the person you thin is the source case. Since this can be many, we are not adding a line listing creation of contact that may facilitate this process.
• If interested to know the type of family member, then it can be good to add your list to contact and called it something like relationship with case details and show your suggested categories when relationship with case == family member. Do not know if this can address your need because not sure I understand the the need fully.
• You wish to group by family member and in another instance, you may need to group by city, postal code, work place etc. A suggestion that I can see as a good way now is to focus on documenting/ link the persons through contacts and add a logic to group persons based on any variable you need.
• Can you add more information whey the need please?

we need the linking of family members for two reasons:

1) For example, we have recorded all contacts to person A (kindergarten teacher).These are the children, other employees and possibly also the parents of the children. It is then no longer traceable who belongs to whom there. For this, it would be good to sort the family members together. 2) If person B was already a case in the past and now a case/contact occurs again in the same family, the family relationships do not have to be determined again, but are available from the beginning.

@Marko-ilmkreis I think what you are asking would be good to have a call to refine it better, not sure I fully understand the need. @kwa20 Is it possible to organize one?

• What is not still clear is the difference between linking people because they are family members and linking people because they had a physical contact.
• If a person who was sick later become a case again or contact, we still need to document the new contact but using the same person.
