Hi Komatits,

In specfem3d/EXAMPLES/meshfem3D_examples/socal1D, you put the the DATA files for recover socal1D_sesame.png, can you also share how to make the DATA files to recover the meshing in socal1D_koma2004.png? I am requiring this because I had a hard time to convert the mesh from old SPECFEM3D_BASIN to the new SPECFEM3D. I guess that the new version use interfaces.dat to load Topo, basement and moho and make the vertical meshing. However, the doubling seems different between these two versions. Can the new version code totally do the same mesing as that in SPECFEM3D_BASIN?

Best regards, Kai

Dear Kai,

Thank you for your message. Yes, the mesh has been improved since then, thus you can safely use the new one, which is better than the old one. I do not think there is any simple way of using the current mesher to create the old one.

Best regards, Dimitri.

Thanks so much for you reply! I am just wondering how the different doubling affect the results of simulation.
