This workshop's objective is to familiarise first-year students with the fundamental ideas behind CAD modelling in SolidWorks. Presently, we are introducing them to the fundamentals by creating the straightforward Quadruped structure. However, students don't gain a basic understanding of solidworks and its applications from this sparse information because it only covers a small portion of solidworks. As a result, this content needs to be changed.
Keeping in mind that juniors shouldn't be overloaded with information, following suggestions are being made :
Teaching Solidworks' Assembly, Sketch, and Features
We can briefly demonstrate the many features that can be used in solidworks to give them a general understanding of it.
They will become familiar with all of Solidworks' features and be shown what they can do on this interface by doing this.
By creating products that include these features, we can demonstrate on how to use them.
Introducing mario model
The design of Mario rather than a quadruped will be extremely helpful given that Dimension is held just before Mario. Also,
Mario does not cover its designing, which is something that may be studied here.
As Mario has more parts than its predecessor, juniors will learn diverse design styles so they can practise more of them in their leisure time. we can assign them the design of quadruped as an assignment.
3D modelling
This is the supplementary material that can be taught in this workshop. We can show them basic functions of 3D printing and how does it work. This is essential for any future projects they may pursue and fits in perfectly with our dimension workshop.
@hashmis79 @kart1802 @MOLOCH-dev would like to have your opinion and feedback on this.
