Hello, I have been thinking about this recently:I think we need to have this only as an option because it's so disruptive. Then, there is also an issue if someone wants to disable this (files left read-only) so perhaps do we need to force them back to writable.

I have a newborn kid at home, so not a lot of energy to tackle such changes in the short term
