For sssd-2.9. (and older) at Ubuntu keep /etc/sssd/ owned by root:root and chmod sssd.conf to 600
And to figure out the reason for
Child [51056] ('corp.Nunya.biz':'%BE_corp.Nunya.biz') exited with code [3]
look into sssd_corp.Nunya.biz.log
So I have performed 3 fresh installs, 2 of them with 24.04, the other on 20.04 and the same issue presents itself. After installing sssd sssd.conf is not created in /etc/sssd and the /etc/sssd folder is owned by root and not sssd. sssd does not start in this state. Chown'ing the directory to sssd:sssd and adding a sssd.conf file from another working system did not improve the situation. Ive attached a sanitized copy of the sssd logs. sssd_san.log
Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.
