I agree with your take. I'll ask a bit around whether someone knows (or whether we have to "define" one).
Starting slightly in reverse, Stroustrup said something along the lines of "exceptions are exceptional", i.e. they should only happen very few times. Here "exceptional" could be many things, but especially "undtagelsesvis" which also matches the Danish "undtagelse". So, assuming nothing else comes up - that would be my suggestion.
Bærbak did on-the-fly the same kind of reasoning, so I feel that confirms it is a reasonable translation.
Do you take requests?
I have not been able to find a translation for "throwing an exception" à la Java. I'm using "at kaste et fejl" for the moment, but I'm not convinced that's quite right, especially since Java distinguishes between exceptions (recoverable) and errors (unrecoverable).
