Sounds nice.
@Rexobias About stores it depends.I think some games the store had the same music as Pokemon center, and other had a different music.
I could try to to write down all the soundtrack songs in Guitar Pro and export as a midi or some other format so we don't have to use Nintendo's files.
Sounds nice.
I personally don't believe that the 8 bit sounds work aesthetically for what this is. If they were pixellated it would work, but this game isn't that, and I think we should stop trying to morph it into something of the past. We all love pokemon, but if you wanted it to be like Red and Blue, then just go and play Red/Blue/Yellow. Just my opinion though.
Though we definitely do need to start thinking in terms of sound design and adding in at least some sounds for this. It's definitely not as entertaining with a silent game.
Or ST-Apps can use this https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6akIKaXBeU1-mfIYD9jXg5oIHrdsuOVC
for me music doesnt work in the app
I think if the devs do implement the music it will be one of the last things they do because it irrelevant to the base functionality of the app until they implement all the features we are still missing.
There was Issue #116 about this, but it was closed by the author.
I think you(we) could use some classic music from the handheld games. I know I'm sticking a lot with the Nintendo games but if Pokémon Go is having this huge success its thanks to them too, and they mean a lot to the players of Pokémon Go.
I'm using this link as music reference (they don't need to be this ones exactly).
In the Map (Speed < 15 Km/h) - Routes normal music (106 - the road to viridian city - from palette.mp3 or another or even a random between them each time App is started) ; In the Map (Speed >= 15 Km/h) - Bicycle music (130 - cycling.mp3); Pokémon Appear - Pokémon cry (146 - bulbasaur.mp3 to 298 - mew.mp3); Pokémon Stat/Info Page - Pokémon cry (146 - bulbasaur.mp3 to 298 - mew.mp3); Pokémon Encounter - Wild Pokémon Battle (107 - battle (vs wild pokemon).mp3); Gym - Pokémon Gym (120 - pokemon gym.mp3) PokéStop - Pokémon Center (110 - pokemon center.mp3) - I don't remember if Store had a proper music; Buttons - The typical BIP sound when we pressed A when talking, interacting, etc.
Feel free to comment and add more scenarios ;)
About the implementation, a Singleton Class with two MediaElements (Music and Effects) could be used to make this work.
