Do you have any updates on this front? There's an extensive literature on Moby Dick. Are there one or two papers that might be amenable to you to replicate using your data package?

I've spent a good deal looking into this and found nothing incredibly enlightening. There is an interesting quote that highlights what I'm looking to show:

"The novel is an encyclopedia of forms, a narrative chowder that combines dictionary, whaling manual, comedy, tragedy, epic, prophecy, sermon, soliloquy, drama, bawdy humor, and tales within tales. … Melville looks at the whale, with relish, from an exuberant assortment of literary angles, encompassing them all into one mighty compendium and in so doing breaking the boundaries of what it means to be a book."

—Elizabeth Renker, Introduction to Moby-Dick

I haven't found an analysis looking to prove this, but I think it should be possible with topic modeling.

This issue will be closed when @arogers24 has added these into the references for what I suspect will be a very short report that accompanies the Shiny app (see #12)

The Bezanson addition was really helpful.

I'm closing this issue.
