8 years ago This issue was discussed extensively. Consensus was asserted that the abstract base classes for the TLOs should be removed. A one week comment period was opened 2/1-2/5 where no objections were raised to the consensus. Consensus is now officially asserted as achieved.
No normative text is required as these are simply things that will not exist in 2.0
This is a bit of an XML-y item and given the move to an independent representation may not make sense, but we should look at where xsi:type is currently used and maybe remove it from some of those places. It's hard to understand and use properly.
In particular, I have a hard time seeing the value we envisioned when adding it for component types. It may still make sense for extensions and controlled vocabularies.
