performance improvements backported for 1.x #27

This is the same set of changes that has been merged / submitted for master, backported against the 1.x (SES5) branch.

What version of targetcli do I need for this? I currently have targetcli-2.1-17.1.x86_64 in my environment. The backstore creation doesn't complete.

you need the fix for https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1143852 . You can find a link to the build in comment#2 . I guess I should also add the targetcli-rbd >= 2.1.1 to the spec file in the repo here.

Using https://build.suse.de/project/show/home:dmdiss:bsc1143852_targetcli_fix_noninteractive_exit works for me.
