Following part is not correct: 'The "tag=pacemaker" entry needs to match the tag chosen for the EC2 instances. The value for this tag contains the host name returned by the uname -n command.' uname -n delivers the hostname as set. It can contain upper case letters. The value must be the short part of the hostname in lower case: hostname -s | tr [[:upper:]] [[:lower:]] See bug: https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1196651
