With SIBT linear scanning the tile preview commonly contains duplicate tiles #20

Often the same tile is laid down two more more times on adjacent x/y positions. This hasn't been seen with resonant scanning ever. The actual data are not affected. Only the preview image looks wrong. This appears to be a bug in ScanImage that is causing the data not to update, but this isn't clear. duplicate

At the moment the preferred solution to this is to upgrade the rig (even if it's linear scanners) to an FPGA.

Vidrio can not replicate, so need to make a minimal test example. Steps to achieve:

raacampbell commented 4 years ago

Add debugging code to optionally keep all tiles from the last section (70a67d8e0d7ac964aca177df53c3cef90260687d) and find duplicates in that cache (5b7b50012efbe8fa3eb150f485822c55e72d26b0)

I set up sample RC_LR_05_AutofindTest_03 to test the autoROI on NV and also look for duplicate tiles. There were no duplicates that I can see. This is surprising. It's 2 channels, 4.47 x 4.4, 2 optical planes. Nothing unusual.

This problem weirdly went away at some point and now there are no more known linear rigs.
