Customer Could Not Add a Region on the Map #249

Closed TalatCikikci closed 7 years ago

Customer has commented that they were unable to add a region on the map of a heritage item. This should be investigated.

Current dialog has been:

Suzan Uskudarli: I could not figure out how to interact with map to select region.

Kartal Erkoç: The link I provided is just to see the details of a heritage item, so you can't change the region there. However, you can visit the page for creating a new heritage item where you can select desired map type including pin, polygon, circle, polyline and you can add new markers as much as you would like to; http://54.154.214.100/static/heritageForm.html Please find "Geo-location" section for maps.

Suzan Uskudarli: Oradaydim ama region yaratamadim. Turkiyede bir ucgen cikiyor. Ben baska bir ulkede bir yeri isaretlemek istiyorum.

Interface i anlayamadim herjalde.

Biz test ederken önce markerları ekleyip, sonra zoom out yaparak drag ediyorduk istediğimiz bölgeye. Daha hızlı çözüme ulaşabilirsiniz.

and from today's communique:

Suzan Uskudarli: I could not manage to define the location and the date field does not allow me to state dates like

Since 5 century BC

1960s etc.

@muatik has provided the following guides he has created to the customer:

Hi,

Did you get a specific error message or the problem was in only one of the markers options(polygon, circle)?

I prepared some videos to show how to define locations using different markers.

Multiple points: In this example, "pastirma" has three different exact locations, so points markers are used. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgixLHC9w6E

Line: In this example, I tried to mark the location of Great Wall of China. To do so, path-polyline was used. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fh4lrQnQ58&t=12s

Polygon In this example, the location of Fertile Crescent was marked using polygon markers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMZt17Uy02E The same location was also marked by using path-polyline https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjxGPiHZF3E

The guides have helped the customer, and the customer has seen how the map UI is to be operated.

Thanks guys. I am sure I just did not figure out how to interact with UI. I saw you do it. So I know it works.

The pin id number is a brilliant UI ;)
