What do you mean with "they use a screen-reader within their usual browser"?
Do they select text in the browser and use the menu item "Speech/Start Speaking" in the right-click context menu?
People with impaired vision usually use the built-in macOS screen reader VoiceOver, which works perfectly with SEB. We will nevertheless look at adding a text-to-speech menu to SEB as well.
We are also waiting for this feature because students should be able to hear the questions and info in stead of only reading it. Especially for students that are dyslectic. Is this feature coming to future versions?
@danschlet In our case, students indeed use the native iOS 'Speak' context menu, which isn't available on Safe Exam Browser.
Hi, We are using the latest version of SEB in a Bring Your Own Device School and have a combination of windows and mac laptops.
Would it be possible to have an in-built screen reader function within SEB that reads the text as it is written on the screen? We are wanting this for a couple of our students with imparied vision.
Usually, they use a screen-reader within their usual browser, but this isn't available within SEB.
