Included items photo, upper right, between battery connectors and white 4 pin connector, item is unidentifiable and does not seem to be included or used.
Do the 2 pairs of inboard pins for the 4056 charger need to divided, or can they remain connected as a pair? Would make assembly easier
Instructions often mention flipping the board, but it is unclear which side of the board is being referred to, clarification is important here.
There is no identification of + or - for the battery, and there are no clear directions, only that the + needs to be protected from grounding. This should be clearly printed on the board.
White 4 pin connector has no documented purpose, but is part of the instructions to install, leaves the user feeling like they missed something. Should be better documented and/or optional.
There should be a pre-flight test before securing the M4 and the tube to the board as it is difficult to make some fixes after. My GPS solder joints weren't good enough and I had to unscrew the m4 from behind the tube since it is now quite firmly attached. I ended up ditching the screws for now since the M4 is secure enough with the contact pins only.
Cathode ground wire for tube does not reach the contact on the driver board, and needs to be bridged or replaced.
While instructions say to affix the high voltage sticker, it doesn't say where and nothing is obvious. Only in a later photo do you see it, but it's not clear
Contact charger seems superfluous, has no specs and blocks the USB C port for any other charging, should be documented and optional
On Windows 11 additional drivers (CP210x_VCP_Windows) need to be installed, which are available from the same page as the burner, should be documented
Additionally, the font on the screen is TINY, about as small as could possibly be used on a screen of that resolution, and is unreadable except up close. Options for larger and/or simpler indicators should be provided
The white 4 pin connector is an extra I2C port to be used for other extra sensors if a user wants to use those. Not necessary for currently standard operation. In the next version of the board, we should maybe drop it, since not many people seem to be using it yet. If demand for it comes, we can always add it again.
On the 4056 board, the pinholes are not the standard distance between them. Not a 2.54 pitch.
Some tubes have shorter wires. We should include an extra wire extension wire and shrink tube with instructions on how to extend it.
Thanks for mentioning the CP210x_VCP_Windows installing is M5burner instructions are indeed missing on the M5burner page. We will make a link to them (link)
The font is indeed a bit small. We did many tests and for most people the size of the fonts was acceptable. We had the main data as big as possible and easy to read. Maybe we should make an option to accommodate for people with less good vision.
