- **Droid-Hal Version: 10

Description

When the phone is unlocked, sometimes there is a bright flash of the screen for a split second (subjectively: for a short split of a second, the screen floods the white background with maximum brightness). The probability is less than 10%.

How to reproduce the bug

  1. Unlock your phone after a long period of inactivity.

This also happens on AOSP and seems to affect tama as well.

I have a rough idea as to what could be happening in the kernel, but would have to verify that.

@Thaodan did you experience this on seine or edo as well?

It is pretty hard to trigger, but after looking at some code for the past few days, nothing obvious showed up and no existing idea worked.

The differences between the devices make this interesting, because AFAIU the current landscape looks like this:

I haven't really expirienced this on any of my phones so far. But I will pay attention to it and report back if I experience it.
