[BUG][Kumano][bahamut][4.5.0.24]: Delayed/slow lock screen unlock and UI #86

Open voidanix opened 9 months ago

voidanix commented 9 months ago

Environment

- **Platform:** Kumano
- **Device:** Bahamut, but likely griffin as well
- **Sailfish OS Version:** 4.5.0.24
- **Kernel version:** 4.14.314
- **Droid-Hal Version:** any
- **Droid-System Version:** any
- **Software binaries version:** SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_11_4.14_v9a_kumano.img, but irrelevant

Previously working on

None AFAIK

Description

Opening submenus under the Settings app takes around one second for them to be displayed and the UI feels generally slow but very smooth (that is, it takes time to load things but keeps a solid 60+ FPS basically everywhere).

Compared to the tama port though, these differences are fairly noticeable, especially on the lock screen where kumano takes a disappointing 4 seconds to unlock.

To rule out any OS version issue, according to seine/lena users this issue is not present on their devices.

Below you can see the difference in unlock times between akatsuki (left) and bahamut (right). Both are running 4.5.0.24 on top of Android 11 base and 4.14.314.

Symptoms

See above.

How to reproduce the bug

  1. Just run and use the system
  2. Compare it with a tama/seine/lena
  3. Cry in a corner

Additional context

Two likely irrelevant things:

I have only looked briefly into the bug but the library not found messages are harmless they come from libhybris. They are present on all ports in one way or the other.

The hwcomposer module message comes from the hybris side, they are also present on AOSP.

I will try to verify the bug on my internal builds.

FYI, @mlehtima has verified that something similar to this is present on lena (it takes 2-3 seconds to unlock).

Using community-encryption (which the tama was also using) completely gets rid of the lock screen issue on kumano.
