In order to untangle the mouse follow the steps below.
Every 1-2h and BEFORE the bad coiling near the mouse appears, do;
1)stop the motor pressing shift+F4 (behaviour PC)
2)go to maintenance
3)put the mouse in a cage near the arena wall
4)grab the cable in the 10 cm under the loop with both hands and gently brings the hands closer to each other. This will form a coil.
5)if the coil is dextrorotary b(blue) it means that the mouse spinned more anticlockwise. If laevorotary (green) it means the mouse span more clockwise.
6)to fix the dextrorotary case do shift+f4 (ephys PC) to spin the commutator clockwise
To fix the laevorotary do shift+f3 (ephys PC) to spin the rotor anticlock wise
7)repeat 3) to see if the cable is now not coiled, or maybe exhibit a very large coiling on the opposite direction as the initial one. If not, repeat 4 to 6.
8) Put the mouse back in the arena
9)Exit maintenance
10)restart the motor pressing shift+f3 (behaviour PC)
In case of catastrophic tangling:
1)stop the motor pressing shift+F4 (behaviour PC)
2)go to maintenance
3)put the mouse in a cage near the arena wall
4)disconnect the onix cable from the headstage by pulling up the rubber sleave and disconnecting the round connector
5)Undo the tangling
6)reconnect the connector and pull the sleave back
7) Put the mouse back in the arena
8)Exit maintenance
9)restart the motor pressing shift+f3 (behaviour PC)
