Unable to import opportunities into salesforce using excel connect

I have downloaded the excel connector and also logged into my salesforce 
account using the salesforce.com tab.

When I go under the Add-Ins tab I see force.com connector and a drop down next 
to it. 

Can anybody guide me with the steps to import opportunities. Or is there a 
standard xls format available. 

I am using salesforce professional edition and office 2007.
