Hi there, our organization has been using logger religiously as it is much more straightforward for our purposes than the other salesforce apps. Recently we noticed that it vanished from the USA iOS app store. What is the status, will it be brought back? Is there any other way to install it?

At salesforce.com, customer success is our top priority and we strive to provide open communication on changes that may impact our customers. With that in mind, we want to make you aware that on April 18th, 2014, Logger by Salesforce Labs will no longer be available.

What is changing? On April 18th, 2014, we’ll be removing the Logger for Salesforce Labs application from the Salesforce AppExchange, Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Existing users can continue to use Logger, but no further updates will be made to the application. Additionally, installations of Logger will no longer be available for new users.

We are encouraging users to migrate to Salesforce1, our flagship mobile application that brings the Salesforce experience to your mobile device. Salesforce1 delivers many of the most popular features of Logger in a fully-supported mobile application. There is no cost to use the Salesforce1 mobile application. To get started on Salesforce1, see Introducing the Salesforce1 App in the Salesforce.com Spring ‘14 Release notes.

Why are we making this change? Salesforce Labs applications are free-to-use community-built applications, but are not officially supported salesforce.com products. Moving forward, we are focusing our development efforts on the Salesforce1 mobile application, a fully-supported tool designed to deliver the Salesforce experience on any device. We believe that our continued investment in Salesforce1 will set our customers up for long-term success.

What do we recommend? We understand that this may cause some disruption for customers using the Logger for Salesforce Labs application. We encourage you to migrate to the Salesforce1 mobile application prior to April 18th, 2014. To get started, please see Introducing the Salesforce1 App in the Salesforce.com Spring ‘14 Release notes.

Since Logger is a community-built application, how can I build my own version? If you would like to continue using Logger or customize it to your needs, you may do so by building your own custom version of this community-built app using the source code posted on GitHub. However, please be aware that Salesforce cannot guarantee the availability or functionality of the application, and is not responsible for your use. You can read more about this and view the License terms at: https://github.com/forcedotcomlabs/Logger#license.

Where can I go for more information? Salesforce.com support is prepared to answer any questions you may have about the Salesforce1 mobile application. For questions regarding logger, you can reach out to us via Twitter at https://twitter.com/saleslogger. We appreciate your business and look forward to working with you to support your success.
