Thank you for your post. I have made several customizations over the years when it made sense also but I never tackled "where questions appeared/disappeared depending on other questions". It would be great to see some samples to consider for future use cases!
I will see what I can put together and upload it as sample code.

This is a survey demonstration showing the different question types.
Please do not select Done because it will lock others from viewing the options.
Because SurveyForce shows X number of questions per page, I also added a "blank" question type that can be used to ensure questions are grouped correctly.
This looks good. What is your 'save and complete later' button doing? Is that allowing you to come back to that same invite and resume?? That is a great idea!!
Yes, the link to survey stays good, and any responses are saved. If the responder returns, all the initial responses are there, but not really as submitted. Once the responder clicks Done, he/she gets a thank you page, specified in the Survey record. Subsequent clicks on the unique link notify the person that the survey has been completed.
Also, with a save and complete, you can resend the invitation, and the responder does not have to start all over again.

@claico how difficult was adding the file upload question type? Would it be possible to share steps to do this?
I have done a lot of work over the years, starting with Surveyforce as a base. The enhancements include:
If there is interest in these features, I will try to integrate them into the package.
