Associating Contact to a Survey

[rmdudley]

Hi,

I am new to survey force. All is set up I believe. When I email a survey it doesn't associate with the contact I mailed it to. I have tried plugging in the contact ID into the URL too without success.

What am I missing / doing wrong.

Please make sure you have the latest version of Survey force installed. I have made many changes to the code to work with new security restrictions on Guest account for a Force.com site.

You can either install the package from AppExchange (but you will need to uninstall existing package as it's un-managed and can't be upgraded) or you can get latest code from GitHub repo and merge it in your sandbox, test and then move to production

Make sure you have v2.46.

If you do then it should work. If not then collect debug logs and see what maybe the error. you can attach debug log here and I can take a look and see what could be the issue.

I figured it out and updated and closed the ticket

One more question…at the end of the survey there is box that says Answer As: with choice of Anonymous and the user. Can this be removed??

That feature only shows up when you preview it internally. This will not show up for Guest users when you add it to Force.com site.

But even for internal users, you can remove the code in "TakeSurve.page" Visualforce page. This feature has been there for a while and I hesitate to remove it unless I hear from many others that no body is using it.

Or, in future, I may move this to custom settings where it can be turned off. For now you have to manually do it.

Thanks…I am not a programmer so doing this stuff is kind of trial and error for me. I thought I was using the TakeSurvey page but it still shows up. The share URL I use is the Email Link with Contact Merge and Survey1 which is the site I created. However Survey1 is a Community site and Survey is a force.com site. But I can’t get the survey site to display the survey…it times out. So it may be that my site is not set up correctly

Sorry to be a pain here…I am technical enough to be dangerous. I appreciate the help

Sorry, can't say without looking. Each org is different and if permissions are not working then it won't work.

I have never tried this with community; only force.com site so not sure why it's not working (or how to get it working there)

That feature only shows up when you preview it internally. This will not show up for Guest users when you add it to Force.com site.

But even for internal users, you can remove the code in "TakeSurve.page" Visualforce page. This feature has been there for a while and I hesitate to remove it unless I hear from many others that no body is using it.

Or, in future, I may move this to custom settings where it can be turned off. For now you have to manually do it.

Make sure you have v2.46.

If you do then it should work. If not then collect debug logs and see what maybe the error. you can attach debug log here and I can take a look and see what could be the issue.

Please make sure you have the latest version of Survey force installed. I have made many changes to the code to work with new security restrictions on Guest account for a Force.com site.

You can either install the package from AppExchange (but you will need to uninstall existing package as it's un-managed and can't be upgraded) or you can get latest code from GitHub repo and merge it in your sandbox, test and then move to production

The share URL I use is the Email Link with Contact Merge and Survey1 which is the site I created. However Survey1 is a Community site and Survey is a force.com site. But I can’t get the survey site to display the survey…it times out. So it may be that my site is not set up correctly

That feature only shows up when you preview it internally. This will not show up for Guest users when you add it to Force.com site.

But even for internal users, you can remove the code in "TakeSurve.page" Visualforce page. This feature has been there for a while and I hesitate to remove it unless I hear from many others that no body is using it.

Or, in future, I may move this to custom settings where it can be turned off. For now you have to manually do it.

Make sure you have v2.46.

If you do then it should work. If not then collect debug logs and see what maybe the error. you can attach debug log here and I can take a look and see what could be the issue.

Please make sure you have the latest version of Survey force installed. I have made many changes to the code to work with new security restrictions on Guest account for a Force.com site.

You can either install the package from AppExchange (but you will need to uninstall existing package as it's un-managed and can't be upgraded) or you can get latest code from GitHub repo and merge it in your sandbox, test and then move to production

Ok I have everything running on a desktop with an email link sent to a contact. However if I up the email on an iphone and click on the survey link I get a message that “Safari cannot open the page because too many redirects occurred.”

There are some fixes posted on the web for generic Safari but none have worked. Have you seen this before?? Any ideas how to fix?

Sorry, can't say without looking. Each org is different and if permissions are not working then it won't work.

I have never tried this with community; only force.com site so not sure why it's not working (or how to get it working there)

THere can be many reasons for those; possibility is how that site is setup. But hard to say without checking and it seems issue is general and not SurveyForce specific. Sorry.

Sorry, can't say without looking. Each org is different and if permissions are not working then it won't work.

That feature only shows up when you preview it internally. This will not show up for Guest users when you add it to Force.com site.

But even for internal users, you can remove the code in "TakeSurve.page" Visualforce page. This feature has been there for a while and I hesitate to remove it unless I hear from many others that no body is using it.

Or, in future, I may move this to custom settings where it can be turned off. For now you have to manually do it.

Make sure you have v2.46.

If you do then it should work. If not then collect debug logs and see what maybe the error. you can attach debug log here and I can take a look and see what could be the issue.

Please make sure you have the latest version of Survey force installed. I have made many changes to the code to work with new security restrictions on Guest account for a Force.com site.

You can either install the package from AppExchange (but you will need to uninstall existing package as it's un-managed and can't be upgraded) or you can get latest code from GitHub repo and merge it in your sandbox, test and then move to production

THere can be many reasons for those; possibility is how that site is setup. But hard to say without checking and it seems issue is general and not SurveyForce specific. Sorry.

Ok I have everything running on a desktop with an email link sent to a contact. However if I up the email on an iphone and click on the survey link I get a message that “Safari cannot open the page because too many redirects occurred.”

There are some fixes posted on the web for generic Safari but none have worked. Have you seen this before?? Any ideas how to fix?

Sorry, can't say without looking. Each org is different and if permissions are not working then it won't work.

I have never tried this with community; only force.com site so not sure why it's not working (or how to get it working there)

Thanks…I am not a programmer so doing this stuff is kind of trial and error for me. I thought I was using the TakeSurvey page but it still shows up. The share URL I use is the Email Link with Contact Merge and Survey1 which is the site I created. However Survey1 is a Community site and Survey is a force.com site. But I can’t get the survey site to display the survey…it times out. So it may be that my site is not set up correctly

That feature only shows up when you preview it internally. This will not show up for Guest users when you add it to Force.com site.

But even for internal users, you can remove the code in "TakeSurve.page" Visualforce page. This feature has been there for a while and I hesitate to remove it unless I hear from many others that no body is using it.

Or, in future, I may move this to custom settings where it can be turned off. For now you have to manually do it.

Make sure you have v2.46.

If you do then it should work. If not then collect debug logs and see what maybe the error. you can attach debug log here and I can take a look and see what could be the issue.

Please make sure you have the latest version of Survey force installed. I have made many changes to the code to work with new security restrictions on Guest account for a Force.com site.

You can either install the package from AppExchange (but you will need to uninstall existing package as it's un-managed and can't be upgraded) or you can get latest code from GitHub repo and merge it in your sandbox, test and then move to production

The share URL I use is the Email Link with Contact Merge and Survey1 which is the site I created. However Survey1 is a Community site and Survey is a force.com site. That feature only shows up when you preview it internally. This will not show up for Guest users when you add it to Force.com site.

But even for internal users, you can remove the code in "TakeSurve.page" Visualforce page. This feature has been there for a while and I hesitate to remove it unless I hear from many others that no body is using it.

Or, in future, I may move this to custom settings where it can be turned off. For now you have to manually do it.

Make sure you have v2.46.

If you do then it should work. If not then collect debug logs and see what maybe the error. you can attach debug log here and I can take a look and see what could be the issue.

Please make sure you have the latest version of Survey force installed. I have made many changes to the code to work with new security restrictions on Guest account for a Force.com site.

You can either install the package from AppExchange (but you will need to uninstall existing package as it's un-managed and can't be upgraded) or you can get latest code from GitHub repo and merge it in your sandbox, test and then move to production

THere can be many reasons for those; possibility is how that site is setup. But hard to say without checking and it seems issue is general and not SurveyForce specific. Sorry.

Sorry, can't say without looking. Each org is different and if permissions are not working then it won't work.

I have never tried this with community; only force.com site so not sure why it's not working (or how to get it working there)

The share URL I use is the Email Link with Contact Merge and Survey1 which is the site I created. However Survey1 is a Community site and Survey is a force.com site. That feature only shows up when you preview it internally. This will not show up for Guest users when you add it to Force.com site.

But even for internal users, you can remove the code in "TakeSurve.page" Visualforce page. This feature has been there for a while and I hesitate to remove it unless I hear from many others that no body is using it.

Or, in future, I may move this to custom settings where it can be turned off. For now you have to manually do it.

Make sure you have v2.46.

If you do then it should work. If not then collect debug logs and see what maybe the error. you can attach debug log here and I can take a look and see what could be the issue.

Please make sure you have the latest version of Survey force installed. I have made many changes to the code to work with new security restrictions on Guest account for a Force.com site.

You can either install the package from AppExchange (but you will need to uninstall existing package as it's un-managed and can't be upgraded) or you can get latest code from GitHub repo and merge it in your sandbox, test and then move to production

Hi,

I am new to survey force. All is set up I believe. When I email a survey it doesn't associate with the contact I mailed it to. I have tried plugging in the contact ID into the URL too without success.

What am I missing / doing wrong.
