3 years ago I just got my Water Elemental and does behave buggy, but still can't pinpoint how or what is the issue. I can imagine all you mention is correct, since also Warlock's Voidwalker is bugged and acts a bit randomly. Either he doesn't obbey instantly to /petfollow /petpassive or its Consume Shadows skill doesn't work when used / pressed. PLEASE fix this, it's very important on PvP.
[MAGE] Summon Water Elemental Description: After using /petfollow command pet should immediately stop casting. Atm it is very random. Usually it will stop casting but with a huge delay or after solid few seconds which is terrible in pvp, it breaks cc all the time. Sometimes pet will also start attacking when it is put on passive. Another bug is that when you try to use "Freeze" ability sometimes nothing will happen at all.
How to reproduce: Tbh just test the whole pet because it works super randomly, it's not one bug but whole pet seems to be broken. Let it attack and try to interrupt it's casting with /petfollow /petpassive, etc. Check pvp interaction, it might be different.
How it should work: Pet should stop attacking instantly on /petfollow and "Freeze" should always come out when casted. Pet follow command is supposed to interrupt pet's all other actions and make it follow you, I don't think proof is needed for that right?
