Wow, that's a feature, not a bug! Ha ha ha! 🤣
OK.. Seriously, joking aside.. 😊 Have you tried to click on "Auto-mute/unmute desktop audio" in the settings?
Haha, yeah it's a feature 🤣
I tried selecting "Auto-mute/unmute desktop audio". It works as intended. It mutes PC speakers, but that unfortunately means it also mutes my streming volume. So no sound from Chromecast Audio.
My solution for this is to plug a small speaker into the PC's 3.5mm audio port, and turn that speaker OFF.
Using the audio port redirects the audio from the PC speakers to the port, then turning that speaker OFF silences the local audio, while the Stream continues unimpeded.
I remember having the same behaviour long time ago. I don't remember what I changed, I think I changed something in the volume mixer or 'App volume device preferences' back then. You can try changing some settings there...
I use a virtual playback device. It's quite the work around but it works flawlessly. Personally I use https://www.vb-audio.com/Cable/
When I try to stream audio from my PC to Chromecast Audio with DAS, audio is still playing from my PC speakers as well. If I lower the volume/mute my PC speakers, then audio stream to Chromecast Audio also mutes. I assume this is because recording device is "Speakers (Intel Smart sound Technology)", but there is no other option for me to select as a recording device. I am on Windows 10 x64.
Do you have any solution?
