@Christian-Oleson I think he is saying MatBlazor has not been updated and we should consolidate our efforts with MubBlazor?? I haven't seen it before, will look today. @SamProf your thoughts on continuing MatBlazor or calling it quits / sending people to MudBlazor?

Ah, got it. Yes, it does seem that MatBlazor has become somewhat stale recently. However, if we call it quits, I have to move 2 prod apps from it to MudBlazor. Yuck (I don't want to do the work, not that Mudblazor or any other UI lib is bad)!

@Christian-Oleson - I understand the pain. This discussion is good here: https://github.com/enkodellc/blazorboilerplate/issues/618

Precisely

Hey. The main problem was that I myself did not use at work Blazor and MatBlazor. I understand the pain of all the participants that I was not there. But I want to give an optimistic note. I will develop MatBlazor project. A new release will be released in the next 2-3 weeks (nothing big, just an update to the latest versions). However, this is a lot of work as you need to update to the latest MDC (murkup was changed). And in september I will coompete my "Data Magic". So, Once again, I apologize for not being there, but it's not all bad.

Dude, i use it in two large production systems now. It saved me allot of cash. It works, some controls behave wierdly but we managed to get around it. So thanks, looking forward to upgrade.

@GioviQ Good attempt!

Unfortunately, @henon answered very honestly We would have had to invest double or triple the work to transform MatBlazor into MudBlazor and for what? That the guy who messed it up in the first place would get all the credit?

This is why they didn't join to this project and this is why @SamProf will not join to the MudBlazor (clone of MatBlazor) But as I know this project is not dead and we will see competition from September.

Good luck to both projects :-)

GioviQ commented 3 years ago

Thanks to the reactions to the same post in both projects I migrate Blazor Boilerplate to MudBlazor here https://github.com/enkodellc/blazorboilerplate/tree/mudblazor and now I can say MudBlazor is better. Bye

enginexon commented 3 years ago

@GioviQ Thank you. It is not yet merged, so it is good time to fork it to keep MatBlazor version alive.

enginexon commented 3 years ago

@enkodellc Thank you for a long time cooperation with my friend @SamProf Are you going to switch Blazor Boilerplate from MatBlazor to MudBlazor? Is it a final decision?

GioviQ commented 3 years ago

It is not yet merged because of https://github.com/Garderoben/MudBlazor/issues/2416

Anyway I will not remove MatBlazor UI, because Blazor Boilerplate has been design in such a way you can create different UI using the same underlying code.

The final developer will decide which UI to use in production.

enginexon commented 3 years ago

@Christian-Oleson @Christoffleroux Are your projects publicly available? I would suggest @SamProf to create case studies page with descriptions, links, screenshots. If it is possible.

Thank you a lot for using MatBlazor in production. It is a trust. We appreciate it.

I cannot provide links. These are private repos within an enterprise, so by nature the code cannot be shared.

enkodellc commented 3 years ago

@enginexon I have contributed time to both MatBlazor and BB. Of course I would have liked to see more work on MatBlazor but understandably SamProf and other contributors are busy with other work and I am in the same position, except I am now actually using BB in production. BB's overall goal is to allow for any UI so with that goal in mind it really is a mute point. In retrospect I now feel I should have implemented a UI with Bootstrap as I think that is stronger than Material design.

With that said, if you like MatBlazor and SamProf wants to continue to develop it then I recommend you contribute and support him either with code contributions or donations.

enkodellc commented 3 years ago

I converted my production app to MudBlazor. I am very happy I spent the time to do it. BlazorBoilerplate will have both for now but will be converted to be primarily use MudBlazor as it is more functional and updated regularly.
