I manually extracted the root fs dmg and put it at /var/mobile/Media/Succession/rfs.dmg, and started the restore with the two "create apfs snapshot" toggles disabled, and "only restore system data" enabled. Everything seemed to go well until the "Restore Succeeded! Rebuilding icon cache, please wait..." popup appeared and did not disappear for over 5 minutes. Running uicache shouldn't take that long.
Update: I force-rebooted the device after half an hour. Turns out uicache wasn't run at all. All my jailbreak apps' icons are still there, although empty.
