1 year ago There's not a guaranteed method for doing this (quiet drives were a "feature" for their intended use), but there a few things I've seen or tried:
- My favorite amplification method I've see is attaching SOLO cups to the read heads. (Gives them a nice soft tone too)
- You can put the quiet ones on top of a wooden box, or angle them so they have a little resonating chamber to make them louder.
- Sometimes certain frequencies are louder than others, so you might find that your quiet drives are louder at lower frequencies and make sure to assign them the bass track.
Baring that, there's obviously plenty of ways to make the loud ones quieter (I know that's not quite a good):
- Putting a floppy disk in the drive seems to make them a little quieter.
2 of my drives are a lot louder than the others is there a way to increase the volume of the others without turning down the louder ones. I want to keep it loud
