1: Wolfenstein mode. No armor, only health pickups. Each armor is replaced with an InfiniteHealth actor of 50/100, so you're always guaranteed to benefit from the armor.
2: Stackable armor. All armor is replaced with glorified armor bonuses that provide fairly flimsy protection but can stack up to an absurdly high amount.
For the stackable armor, would it 'level up' as you go up in 100s? Something such as 10% for the first 100, then 20% until you hit 200, then 30% until you hit 300, etc?
The Wolfenstein mode would require adding some more code to the armor giving ACS. And that's haaaaaaaaaaaaard
Heretic Armor Mode - 100 Armor points of 50% protection for green (silver shield), 200 armor points of 75% for blue (enchanted shield), 150 points of 66% protection for yellow (just as an in-between), and 250 points of 87.5% protection for red.
Duke Armor mode - all armor is 66% protection.
We already got Quake/Doom/Chex (Doom)/Marathon/Wolfenstein (No Armor Mode) so Heretic and Duke would be next
I'd say Hexen but I'm pretty sure that's not actually legit possible to implement
Some ideas for the hell of it:
• Marathon Armor Mode 2: Sort-of reverse of the proposed Wolfenstein mode. Same as Marathon Armor where all are tiers of 100% protection, but all health is removed from the level and replaced with armor pickups. Players start with 1 health and cannot heal.
• Halo Armor Mode: Also like Marathon mode (100% protection) but armor quickly regenerates up to 100 if the player can keep from taking a hit. Plays sounds from Halo I guess?
For all these modes, perhaps insignias from their respective games should be put on the armor in addition to color coding?
Put any and all suggestions/possibilities/whatevers here so we can see it, roll our eyes, then take a stab at it late at night after drinking too much coffee.
