The directory .vs in the main directory of Dexter has been added with the commit 36385dd and as far as it has been tested it is completely unnecessary.
It has been checked that the projects DexterCS and dexter-vs (the only VisualStudio) projects build successfully without this folder.
Perhaps there is another reason for the the folder being in the main directory. In such case, please justify its presence and feel free to reject this pull request.
