A difficulty with Sama Vedic svara markers is that they can occur in combination. If they occur alone, they can be placed in one centered position above the base, but in combination, one svara marker has to move slightly left and another slightly right so that they don't clash trying to occupy the same position above the base.
Based on feedback from Sama Vedic scholars, the following data is provided re combining svara markers:
The following svara markers occur first in such two-member combinations and hence should move left: combining above forms of {१ २ ३ ४ ५ ऽ अ न वि} and of the dash i.e. ᳒
The following occur second in such combinations and hence should move right: combining above forms of {० र क उ प}, of * i.e. ⃰, and of ^ i.e. ᳐
The combination विर needs some special attention because if वि and र are totally the same height then it will seem awkward so र should be only as tall as the shirorekha of वि, but in other places, it should be as tall as the digits for better legibiility.
Apart from the above list, the following two-member combination also occurs: ११
The following three-member combinations also occur and need to be provided for:
The following PDF contains some actual Sama Veda passages I rendered based off modified glyphs of another commonly seen font covering all kinds of Sama Vedic combinations I have encountered: sama-veda-actual-examples-A4.pdf
Sāmaveda support is the last major pending work in Shobhika. Time and resources allowing, this may be taken up in the future.
Namaste. This is a placeholder bug for this desideratum in Shobhika. First I provide attestations from sources:
