Addon cannot be installed #464

Describe the bug When trying to install the Amazon VOD add-on three errors occur:

  1. MechanicalSoup is not compatible with this version of Kodi
  2. py Des is not compatible with this version of Kodi
  3. xbmc.python version 2.24.0 could not be satisfied When the window with additional add-ons will be installed comes up it says that MechanicalSoup and pyDes is already installed.

You installed the wrong repository. Uninstall the addon, delete the repository, then from the release page choose the py3-Matrix version. You might have misclicked previously, but Kodi 19 changed some requirements, so unless you install the correct repository you won't be able to install it, and the "2.24" requirement is a telltale sign you installed the Leia repository, which servers up to Kodi 18.

I did download the correct repository, the version of both the repository and the addon have matrix in their name. Please see the attached images on what happens if I try to install the addon: screenshot000 screenshot001 screenshot004. screenshot005 screenshot002 screenshot003

Ok, admittedly this is weird. If I understood this correctly given the logs, you already have a version of pyDes and MechanicalSoup which are not py3 compatible. Might have been a previous install, some sideloading, another addon, I don't know, but you do have them installed:

Notice how neither pyDes nor MechanicalSoup are the +matrix version you see amongst the requirements.

I would suggest going to the addon dependencies screen, selecting those two and uninstalling them. Then reinstall the Amazon VOD to satisfy the dependencies.

hi, maybe i've similar issue... i've kodi 17.3 portable and trying to update some add on i get errors:

Hello I think I have a similar problem.

Libreelec 9.95.1 10.0 Kodi Matrix on RPi 4

I uninstalled all old referenced modules from Settings>System>Addons>Manage Dependencies but still get an error when installing the Amazon VOD 0.9.2+matrix.1 addon from your matrix repo.

Dependency script.module.mechanicalsoup v0.12.0+matrix1 could not be resolved

i've kodi 17.3 portable and trying to update some add on i get errors:

This addon requires at least Kodi 18 to be of some use, possibly Kodi 19+. There have been quite a few structural changes with Kodi and I've had little time of late, so I couldn't possibly guide you even if I wanted to.

Dependency script.module.mechanicalsoup v0.12.0+matrix1 could not be resolved

@Sandmann79 any reasons why MS requires 0.12.0 in the addon but we only ship 1.0.0 in our repo? Can't seem to find an official version distributed by Kodi either. Could be just me, been out of the loops for so long…

I ran into the same issue after updating from Leia to Matrix and tried to install Amazon VOD (matrix). I guess there were remnants of the old Leia plugin of MechanicalSoup still present. Amazon VOD did NOT list MechanicalSoup in it's dependencies so I could not uninstall the old version.

What solved it for me:
