I can download the jar or build it myself with sbt package. However, running it as java -jar scalabuff-compile_VERSION.jar gives me this error:

Error: A JNI error has occurred, please check your installation and try again

Running with sbt run works fine, but I'm simply given the command's help message and then it quits. How do I specify the options --proto_path and --scala_out when using sbt run?

Your missing the scala runtime, you'll need to add to your classpath to run like that.

Not sure on the second part.
