On kitkat 4.4.2 if process is closed the app is offline. - No incomming calls #2904

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Press and hold "home".
2.Pull (left or right)the icon "csipsimple" to close it.
3.On kitkat 4.4.2 is close the process, the service is still open.
4.Now phone is offline.

In other apps (for example Viber) the service can run his process for incoming
calls.

But the csipsimple can't run his process during incomming calls and the phone
can't receive the calls.

Version csipsimple 1.02.03.

OS kitkat 4.4.2

Hi, thanks for the report.

First can you check the app is not configured to behaves the way you observe.
To do so, go in settings > network > and check that you are configured to be
available for incoming calls for the network(s) you are connected to.

Once done, can you collect and send me logs of the situation. (See
http://code.google.com/p/csipsimple/wiki/HowToCollectLogs?wl=en ). I would also
be interested to know how the notification icon behaves in the tray bar. Does
the icon remain present? (also if you configured the app to not show the icon I
would be interested to know because it's an option that can break how android
consider the app and how the service should be killed or not).

Thanks in advance,
Régis

Hi,

1)
In settings > network are checked all network types for incoming and
outgoing calls.

2)
Icon:
I open csip? the icon is in tray bar,
then close app (press "home" and slide the icon csip),
the icon is still in tray,
then reopen app and scip make reregistration (in tray is appear "SIP
registered"),

3)
Where can i set to not show the icon? Inside csip app or in app manager
inside android?

4)
Logs now will send by email.

it seems that sip registration is managed by process. But in viber and
other apps the connection is working when only the service is opened.
During the call viber reopen the process.
