[Feature Request] Support for Messages #373

Open cyrneko opened 1 year ago

Problem Statement

My school heavily uses the "Messages" feature of Units, where Schools can send long-form messages which aren't deleted after a school day with optional attachments. These Messages cannot be replied to.

In the official app, they look like this: Screenshot_20230323-132551-01

Solution Ideas

It would be neat to have this in BetterUntis so that I don't need to have the official app installed in parallel.

This could be implemented in the "Info Center" section of the app.

SapuSeven commented 1 year ago

Just to confirm: Is this still the case? The info-center already has a "Messages" tab, but there may be different "types" of messages in Untis. If so, can you please show me how/where exactly in the Untis app you can access these messages?

Thanks for your input. This seems to be more work than expected - it looks like Untis is using a whole new API for these messages.

The school of my brother switched to another messanger alternative, because they said that this messenger was deprecated by Untis. At least something to be checked befor implementation.

In that case I will probably limit the implementation to viewing received messages, as this seems to be requested by quite a few users now. Then let's see how Untis develops.

Thank you very much! Viewing is all I need for now, not sure how many teachers will rely on BetterUntis to actually post these messages

Note that Untis Messenger isn't this feature. Untis Messenger is a seperate app.

It could be that I missinterpreted the reqeust then.

any updates on this? Not ETA-wise, just if something has been done development- or research-wise
