Feature request - alternate location for label text, properties for font style and size

It would be extra sweet to provide an alternate location for label text.
The most obvious place seems to be just beneath the gauge.  See attached 
example.

Properties for font style, size would be nice and assumed alignment would be 
centred and width limited to, I guess, the canvas size?
