Is this app set up so that I could access it from my own app via an intent?
 Is there a mailing list, google group for this project?

Same question for me too. If there is any chance in invoking this from my own 
app, that will be helpful.

I think you can define a BroadcastReceiver with this, and then you can 
StartActivity to run it via an intent in your own app.
