Criteria 1: Report: Are conclusions clear and supported by evidence in all eight answers?
Score Level: 4 (Exceeds Expectations)
Comment(s): Really nice job with this presentation! I love the formatting and template used with the presentation. Each slide included both query results and analysis on those results which made every slide extremely clear and allowed every slide to add value to the overall message of the presentation. Not only that, but the graphs used on the slide gave a great visual representation of the gathered data and provided even more insight. Lastly, the conclusions were clearly stated and based on the gathered evidence. Great job with the presentation!
Criteria 2: Query Accuracy: Do queries do what they were supposed to do?
Score Level: 3 (Meets Expectations)
Comment(s): 90-99% of the queries accurately retrieve the data intended as stated or implied by the comments or the presentation. The only query that does not quite retrieve the correct data is the query that attempts to calculate the drop-off rate. Unfortunately, the query is not calculating the drop-off rate because a drop-off is when the user decides not to complete all the steps of a predetermined process. It seems more likely that this statistic is calculating the exit rate, but it is hard to determine if it is accurately capturing the exit rate for those campaigns due to the statistics that our database provides (more on this here). In any case, all of the other queries do exactly what we want them to do. So, nice job overall!
Criteria 3: Query Formatting
Score Level: 4 (Exceeds Expectations)
Comment(s): These queries are excellently formatted as they follow each of the rules in our SQL Style Guide. Very nice job!
Criteria 4: Understanding underlying concepts and terminology
Score Level: 4 (Exceeds Expectations)
Comment(s): The report demonstrates a clear understanding of marketing touchpoints, UTM parameters, and touch attribution. Also, the terms are used correctly throughout the entire report.
Overall Score: 15/16
Overall, really nice job with this project! The only key thing to focus on is the difference between drop-off rates and exit rates. Also, quite frankly, I am not entirely certain if it is possible to completely calculate either drop-off or exit rates using just attribution data because attribution data is mostly focused on conversion rates (i.e. when a visitor turns into a customer) while exit and drop-off rates are focused on the process whereby conversion occurs. That being said, I still like the idea of using those statistics in our analysis because it adds a layer of consideration for the CoolTShirts marketing team. So, it was still nice to include the data in the presentation.
In any case, the presentation was very well done, included visually appealing graphs, spot-on analysis and a very explicit recommendation. Further, the queries were accurate and well-formatted. So, great job overall!
